Warm Weather Blues
(a previously unpublished work, (c) TertiusVicus, 2017)
Posted February 2017
Stay, wind, crack my cheeks and send me to my reddened haplessness
Let slipping feet find Winter still
Instead of endless drippy chills
The spring birds never left and sing like summer crows calling for crabapples. The grass wants mowing, and the dog has spring fever - a month of it already.
Global warming? Perhaps the hot air of a new administration huffing its way into power?
Too early this warm, humid air has filled our lungs and chased bright winter clarity from our skies.
Enjoy this poem with an over warm claret, perhaps adding a bit of left out brie.
Come On Snow!!
